Meet Archie Bryan, Pipe Welder

Archie started his journey with MEH Alliance in 2019, a member of the first Pipe Welding cohort. He recently completed his Level 3 Pipe Welding Apprenticeship with an overall grade of Distinction.

Archie recalled his early days, “When I first joined MEH Alliance, the team was mainly working off-site; we hadn’t even begun our on-site work. I was sent to the Tipton facility, one of our partners’ training site to learn more about welding. There were four of us in the beginning, and I’m really proud to have stayed on and completed by apprenticeship. Now, from our original group, there’s just two of us left.”

“The journey wasn’t always easy. I’ve spent nine months in a dockyard. During that time, it has taught me so much. I embraced every opportunity that came my way, and that experience really boosted my confidence by the time I arrived at Hinkley Point C. If you ask me to list everything I’ve done here, I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I’ve welded in various buildings, including working on the mechanical supports for the Dome, which contributed to a major milestone last year,” added Archie.
