Megan Ellicott is Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction 2025

Megan Ellicott, a pipefitting apprentice with the MEH Alliance, is proudly continuing her family’s legacy as the third generation to work in the nuclear industry. Now in the final year of her apprenticeship, Megan was invited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to attend a special celebration in Manchester last week, recognising the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction.

The ceremony, held on 18 September at Manchester’s Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, highlighted the remarkable contributions of women across the construction sector and aimed to make female role models more visible and accessible. Megan was shortlisted as a finalist in the “Woman on the Tools” category.

Although she didn’t take home the top prize, Megan was proud to be named among the finalists. Reflecting on the experience, she shared:

“I am beyond grateful for the opportunities I have been given! Though I may not have won, this is an incredible stepping stone in my career. As someone who is still an apprentice, and being the only person nominated from the Hinkley Point C project with over 15,000 workers on site – at 22, I would say that’s an achievement in itself.”
